During our recent RV adventure, we had the pleasure of staying at the Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park in beautiful Mansfield, Missouri. This charming, family-owned campground sits directly across from the historic Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum and Homestead, making it a must-visit destination for fans of the Little House on the Prairie series.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who made us feel right at home. They even offered to help with setting up our RV, which was a great first impression.
Family-Friendly Amenities
The campground features a playground for kids, perfect for families traveling with little ones. There’s also a pond stocked for fishing, which added a peaceful and fun activity to our stay.
Spacious and Tiered RV Sites
One thing that stood out was the tiered layout of the RV lots, which provides privacy and scenic views. All sites include full hookups (30/50 amp, water, and sewer) and are nicely level—making setup easy. However, take note that the water connection can be quite a distance from the electric and sewer hookups, so we recommend bringing an extra-long water hose.
If you rely on satellite internet, especially Starlink, you may experience some connectivity issues due trees.
Convenient Location & Easy Access
The park is located just minutes from downtown Mansfield and literally across the road from the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum. It’s very easy to find and RV access is simple, even for larger rigs.
Keep in mind that the campground does have some steep hills, so be cautious when walking or biking around the property.
Would We Stay Again?
Absolutely. The location, atmosphere, and hospitality made this a memorable stop on our RV journey. Whether you’re a history buff or simply looking for a quiet and scenic place to stay, Laura Ingalls Wilder RV Park is a fantastic choice.
