Camp Details

During our visit to Camp Mack – A Guy Harvey Lodge, Marina & RV Resort in Lake Wales, Florida, we found a campground with deep roots in Florida’s outdoor heritage. Situated near Lake Kissimmee State Park, this RV park has a rustic, old-Florida charm with everything centered around the water and fishing lifestyle.

The RV sites offer full hookups and are spaced comfortably, though the park definitely has an older layout and design compared to more modern resorts. It’s still well maintained, and everything worked smoothly for us. The roads were manageable even with a larger rig. If you’re using Starlink, reception can be hit or miss due to scattered tree coverage and older infrastructure—same goes for cell signal, so be prepared for potentially spotty service.

Amenities

Camp Mack is packed with things to do and has a very unique Florida vibe. It’s less of a basic RV park and more of a sportsman’s retreat, especially if you love fishing and the outdoors. Some of the highlights during our stay included:

  • 🎣 Access to the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes – A fishing paradise for bass anglers
  • 🛥️ Airboat and Pontoon Tours – Booked right onsite for a full Florida water experience
  • 🚚 Onsite Food Truck – Delicious and convenient, offering some of the best campground food we’ve had
  • 🏪 Campground Store – Well-stocked with essentials, bait, snacks, and branded merchandise
  • 🍻 Sports Bar – A rare and awesome perk for relaxing after a day on the water
  • 🏓 Indoor Pickleball Courts – Great option for staying active no matter the weather
  • 🏊‍♂️ Swimming Pool – Clean and inviting for families or cooling off on hot days

Nearby Activities and Attractions

One of the most interesting aspects of Camp Mack is the local history. The area was home to Fort Gardiner, a U.S. Army fort from the Second Seminole War, adding a bit of historical depth to your visit. Camp Mack is also just a short drive from Lake Kissimmee State Park, which offers hiking, wildlife viewing, and nature trails.

You’re also not far from Downtown Lake Wales, where you can visit places like the Lake Wales History Museum and Bok Tower Gardens, a beautiful historic landmark and nature preserve.

Conclusion

Camp Mack RV Resort may have an older layout, but it delivers a truly authentic Florida experience with a heavy focus on outdoor adventure, fishing, and laid-back charm. With full hookups, a great campground store, airboat tours, and even a sports bar and food truck, it’s far from your typical RV park.

If you’re traveling through Central Florida and looking for something that combines nature, history, and great fishing in a relaxed setting, Camp Mack is a place worth checking out.
